One of our favorite types of wood is quartersawn oak, where the wood is cut at a 90-degree angle to show the rings. The result is a magnificent effect and resembles tiger stripes! Its popularity in furniture grew during the Middle Ages until the 17th century. Today it is typically associated with Arts & Crafts furniture and comes in a variety of colors and styles.
